Important Information for Visitors to Cyrus Ridge Livestock

Before visiting Cyrus Ridge Livestock to meet our Mini Highland cows and Valais Blacknose sheep, we want to ensure that you have all the essential information for a safe and enjoyable farm tour. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Farm Visits Are By Appointment Only

All visits to Cyrus Ridge Livestock are scheduled by appointment. We ask that you book your tour in advance through our website. This helps us prepare for your visit and ensure you get the most out of your time on the farm.

2. Dress Appropriately

Our farm is a working environment, so we recommend dressing comfortably and appropriately for the outdoors. Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes suitable for walking on uneven ground. We also suggest wearing weather-appropriate clothing, as tours are held rain or shine.

3. Animal Interaction

While our Mini Highland cows and Valais Blacknose sheep are friendly, they are still farm animals. Please follow all instructions provided by your tour guide regarding how to safely interact with the animals. Avoid sudden movements, loud noises, or any actions that may startle them.

4. Health and Safety Guidelines

For the safety of our animals and visitors, we ask that you follow a few basic health and safety protocols:

  • Do not feed the animals unless directed by the farm staff.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available, and we encourage visitors to use it after interacting with the animals.
  • Please supervise children closely during your visit.

5. Photography

We encourage you to capture your memories! Feel free to take photos of the animals and the farm. However, please refrain from using flash photography, as it may startle the animals.

6. Respect the Environment

Cyrus Ridge is a working farm, and we take pride in our clean and sustainable environment. We ask all visitors to be mindful of their surroundings, avoid littering, and respect the property during their visit.

7. Duration and Group Sizes

Each farm tour typically lasts between 60-90 minutes. We accommodate both small groups and families, but to provide a more personal experience, we limit the size of each tour group. Be sure to mention the size of your group when booking.

8. Weather Considerations

Please note that tours are held regardless of weather conditions. We recommend checking the weather forecast and coming prepared with any necessary gear (e.g., hats, sunscreen, umbrellas, etc.).

9. Cancellation Policy

If you need to reschedule or cancel your visit, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. We will do our best to accommodate changes to your booking.

10. Pet Policy

For the safety of our animals and your pets, we kindly ask that you do not bring any pets to the farm.
